In a historic moment for Major League Baseball, New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge became the fastest player to reach 300 career home runs on Wednesday night. Judge’s milestone was achieved during a decisive 10-2 victory against the Chicago White Sox, marking yet another highlight in the All-Star slugger’s illustrious career.
Judge launched his 300th homer in the eighth inning, crushing a 3-0 pitch from White Sox pitcher Chad Kuhl deep into the Chicago bullpen. The three-run blast came in Judge’s 955th regular-season game, breaking the long-standing record held by Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, who reached the same milestone in his 1,087th game.
The Judge reflected on the achievement, saying, “It’s an honor to be mentioned alongside Ralph Kiner. I couldn’t have reached this milestone without the support of my teammates and the fans. The intentional walk to Juan [Soto] fired me up, and I knew I had to capitalize on the opportunity.”
The Yankees were leading 6-2 when Judge approached the plate. With the bases loaded and Kuhl on the mound, the decision to intentionally walk Juan Soto backfired, setting the stage for Judge’s historic swing. The home run extended the Yankees’ lead and solidified Judge’s place in baseball history.
A Milestone in Yankees History
Judge becomes the 162nd player in MLB history to reach 300 home runs and is the 17th Yankee to achieve this feat. Among active players, Judge’s home run total ranks 13th, further cementing his reputation as one of the most formidable power hitters in the game.
The Yankees’ victory against the White Sox marks a notable boost as the team looks to gain momentum in the playoff race. With Judge leading by example, the Yankees are poised to make a strong push in the season’s final stretch.
