This report covers a recent warm-up match between Pakistan and China ahead of the Asian Champions Trophy, which ended in a 4-4 draw. The tournament will take place in Hulunbuir City, China, from September 8 to September 17.
In the match, the first half ended with a 2-2 tie. Sufyan was instrumental for Pakistan, scoring twice from penalty corners. Abdul Rahman and Emad Butt also added to the scoreline with one goal each.
The Pakistani team encountered significant travel challenges on their way to Hulunbuir City. Their flight from Beijing was canceled, forcing them to travel approximately 300 kilometers by road to reach the venue.
Other top teams, including India, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia, will participate in the Asian Champions Trophy alongside Pakistan and China.
Financial issues continue to plague the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). The PHF had to purchase travel tickets on debit and has yet to provide any allowances to players and officials. The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has promised to reimburse these expenses. However, financial difficulties have also affected other sports, as the PSB previously declined to fund a training camp for the Pakistan under-18 baseball team ahead of their Asian Championships in Chinese Taipei this September.
