Paul George made an impressive preseason debut for the Philadelphia 76ers, leading the team with 23 points in their 121-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. George finished his 26-minute game with six rebounds, two assists, and an 8-of-15 shooting percentage, including four 3-pointers.
This game marked George’s first for the 76ers after signing a four-year, $212 million contract in the offseason. The nine-time All-Star is now with his fourth team, following stints with the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Los Angeles Clippers. He has averaged 20.8 points over 14 NBA seasons.
The 76ers are hoping George’s veteran presence will bolster their roster as they aim for a deep playoff run. His shooting and leadership were on display right from the start, giving the team a preview of what he brings to the table.
