Although the exact economic terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, reports suggest the French champions paid €70 million (£59 million) plus additional performance-related add-ons for the winger.

Kvaratskhelia expressed his delight at joining PSG, describing the move as a dream come true. “It’s a dream to be here,” he said. “I’ve heard so many positive things about PSG. I feel immense pride in joining this great club and look forward to wearing my new colors.”

The forward earned widespread acclaim during Napoli’s title-winning campaign in the 2022-23 season, with fans affectionately nicknaming him “Kvaradona” in homage to the club’s legendary figure, Diego Maradona. Since joining Napoli in 2022 from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi for £9 million, Kvaratskhelia has delivered 54 combined goals and assists across 107 appearances.

The talented winger also played a pivotal role for Georgia during their run to the Round of 16 at Euro 2024, further enhancing his reputation as one of world football’s most exciting young players. PSG hailed the signing, emphasizing his ability and tenacity. “Khvicha is one of the most exciting players in world football — a fantastic talent, but also a player who has courage and fights for the team above all else,” the club said in a statement.

Kvaratskhelia becomes PSG’s first acquisition of the January transfer window and marks a historic moment as the first Georgian player to join the club. The Ligue 1 leaders, currently seven points ahead of Marseille, face Lens on Saturday before a highly anticipated Champions League clash against Manchester City on Wednesday.
